Summary

A large European financial services group needed a corporate SharePoint portal across its regional branches to improve employee socializing, encourage communication, and consolidate staff from separate offices and departments. INNERLUXES customized a brand-aligned portal with collaboration spaces at every level and dedicated web parts — turning it into the group's central socializing platform and a strong consolidation tool.

About the Client

The Client is an IT-solutions provider that specializes in customizing Microsoft products. The end client is a large European financial services group with regional branches across multiple offices.

The Challenge

The end client was looking for a SharePoint development company to implement a corporate SharePoint portal across its branches located in different regions. The portal was needed to improve the general quality of employees' socializing, to encourage communication, and to consolidate employees from separate offices and departments.

The Solution

The project focused on customizing the SharePoint portal according to the Client's requirements. The portal was uniquely designed in compliance with the company's brand book, which significantly enhanced user adoption.

Customized collaboration spaces were created at all levels:

  • A personal site for each employee.
  • Team sites and community sites for each department and work group.
  • Corporate news and digests enabled on the main collaboration site.

To diversify the portal's functionality, INNERLUXES used customized web parts dedicated to employees' birthdays, corporate ratings, votes, and polls. The polls were of great importance for the HR department to get accurate data on the employees' satisfaction level.

The Results

  • The Client received a fully functional corporate portal that became the central socializing platform and a strong consolidation tool.
  • The portal united the group's distributed workforce by offering an excellent collaboration experience and facilitating internal communication across separate offices.
