Minesweeper-Like Game for iOS Devices

Summary

A French publisher of web and mobile applications needed an iOS game analogous to the widely known Windows Minesweeper, where the object is to identify all mine squares by revealing all non-mine squares. INNERLUXES created an iPhone app that lets users exercise their strategic and logical thinking — with multiple skill levels, Game Center leaderboards, and an Achievements system — delivered on time and on budget.

The Challenge

The Client needed a game for the iOS platform analogous to the widely known Windows Minesweeper. iOS users should enjoy the game as much as its popular PC counterpart, where the object is to identify all mine squares by revealing all non-mine squares.

The Solution

INNERLUXES offered its iPhone app development services and created an iOS app similar to the original PC version that lets users exercise their strategic and logical thinking.

The app supports several skill levels, allowing players to gradually improve. The achieved score is posted automatically to a Game Center server, letting users compete with other players.

Unlike other games of the kind, the app INNERLUXES developed has an Achievements option that motivates players — the ability to create various goals and reward users with additional scores when a mission is accomplished.

The Results

• Compatible with different iOS devices, the app soon became popular on the App Store, helping the Client promote its services.
