Translation Software for a Healthcare Collaboration Platform Supporting 4 Languages
Summary
An IT services company needed to upgrade its multilingual translation workflow system so it could serve as the automated translation component of a social networking platform for healthcare and life-sciences collaboration. INNERLUXES analyzed the existing system, made the required modifications, and added near-real-time translation of user-generated content along with cross-language intelligent processing, so members can exchange ideas and discuss healthcare topics in English, German, Spanish, and Hungarian regardless of their language or location.
About the Client
The Client is a full-service IT company that specializes in developing business and workflow management solutions, serving a broad customer base that ranges from multinational corporations and government agencies to small and medium-sized businesses.
The Challenge
The Client decided to upgrade one of its language services — a multilingual translation workflow system (the "Communicator") — and enrich it with new features. The Communicator had to be modified so it could become the automated translation component of a multilingual social networking platform that enables collaboration in healthcare and life sciences.
The Solution
After joining the project, INNERLUXES analyzed the existing functions and performance capabilities of the system as well as the requirements for successful collaboration with the networking platform. With that information gathered, the team made all the necessary implementations and alterations to modify the system in line with the stated objectives.
To facilitate platform usage, INNERLUXES added several distinctive characteristics, such as near-real-time translation of user-generated content and cross-language intelligent information processing features — tag suggestion, semantic search, information filtering, relevant content recommendations, and more.
To ensure that all content is seamlessly delivered in any supported language and at high quality, the translation process is built from the following components:
- Translation memories populated with domain-specific parallel texts
- Machine translation programs
- An automation server responsible for workflow management
- An optional human post-editing service for quality assurance
The Results
- The Client received a modified multilingual system with new translation methods, tools, and processes that complied with all the requirements for integration with the networking platform.
- The solution lets users join a growing multilingual community and exchange ideas regardless of their language or geographical location, automatically translating content into four languages — English, German, Spanish, and Hungarian.
- The solution provides fast, trusted, high-quality translation and supports the creation of both static and dynamic information regardless of the user's preferred language.
