Pay-Per-Post Software for a German Journalist's Blog
Summary
A German content-monetization service provider wanted to pioneer a new business model for journalists — letting them create and distribute quality content via their blogs and be fairly rewarded. INNERLUXES redesigned a German media writer's blog to enhance the user experience and enable content provision on both free and pay-per-use bases, integrating it with the client's pay-later payment plugin so readers pay only for the articles they want.
About the Client
The Client is a German online service provider that enables businesses to offer paid content as a service by allowing postponed payments for access to digital content.
The Challenge
The Client commissioned INNERLUXES to carry out an ambitious project: a pioneering service built on a new-age business model for journalists who want to create and distribute quality content via their blogs and ensure their work is fairly rewarded. The task was to redesign a German media writer's blog to enhance the user experience and enable content provision on both free and pay-per-use bases. Functionally, the blog had to support search, commentaries, an RSS newsfeed, and social sharing.
The Solution
The blog underwent a complete revamp and gained a new minimalist look complemented with WordPress features while meeting all the requirements. Posts are presented in a tiled layout, with the latest ones on top and highlighted by size, making it easier for readers to spot the hottest topics.
While most posts are free to read, a WordPress plugin for the client's pay-later service made some items available on freemium or pay-per-use models. After reading a teaser or preview, readers pay only for the articles they want; the only condition for a blog user to gain access to this option is to set up an account on the client's service.
The Results
- The Client was satisfied with how the ideas were implemented.
- This laid the foundation for continuous cooperation between the Client and INNERLUXES.
