SharePoint Intranet Redesign to Reflect Brand Identity and Improve UX
Summary
A multinational car manufacturer needed one of its SharePoint intranet sites — used by more than 200 sales managers — branded in line with its corporate style and improved in usability, without any downtime. INNERLUXES developed a new design and deployed it seamlessly, delivering a portal consistent with the company's brand identity and offering a better user experience in two months.
About the Client
The Client is a group of companies providing IT consulting services, including the development and implementation of business solutions based on Microsoft technologies. The end client is a multinational car manufacturer.
The Challenge
One of the Client's customers — a multinational car manufacturer — needed one of its intranet SharePoint sites, used by over 200 sales managers, branded in line with the corporate style. INNERLUXES pitched in to develop a new design with improved usability and deploy it without any downtime.
The Solution
As the end client did not provide a comprehensive guideline for the future design, an INNERLUXES team of a designer and two SharePoint experts came up with several user interface options. The work went through three main stages:
- Prototyping — creating mockups to give the end client a basic idea of how the design would look in real life.
- Design — creating multiple master pages that contained the markup and defined the look and feel for all pages on the site.
- Solution deployment — seamlessly installing and configuring the solution in the company's environment and providing the end client with instructions for further SharePoint support.
The Results
- The solution was delivered successfully over the course of two months.
- The end client received a portal design consistent with the company's brand identity and offering a better user experience.
