Summary

An oil and gas drilling services company with operations spread across the country needed a single management system and one-source support for more than 5,000 employees in 30 dispersed offices. INNERLUXES built a SharePoint corporate intranet integrated with the company's accounting and HR systems, then supported and grew it over years — adding a corporate calendar, social and knowledge tools, and personal and team sites — and ultimately migrated it to SharePoint 2013 without disrupting the business.

About the Client

The Client specializes in exploration and production drilling of oil and gas wells, directional drilling, sidetracking, mud elaboration and support, and well cementation.

One System for a Geographically Dispersed Workforce

With a vast area of operation and many branches in different regions, the Client needed to create a unified management system and provide one-source support for more than 5,000 employees located in 30 geographically dispersed offices.

A SharePoint Intranet Built, Supported, and Evolved Over Years

INNERLUXES created the SharePoint intranet, accessible across all domains of the corporate intranet and integrated with the company's accounting and HR systems. After successful implementation and launch, the portal moved to INNERLUXES's support team, which provided a full range of SharePoint support services and continued development to meet new requirements. During the support period, the team added:

  • A corporate calendar for employees to manage their schedules.
  • Informers and social tools — wiki pages and a corporate chat — to extend the corporate knowledge base and encourage informal communication.
  • Personal and team sites to draw employees into corporate life, with blogging, the ability to follow colleagues, and an activity feed.

After several years, a new platform version (Microsoft SharePoint 2013) was released, and on the strength of the partnership the Client asked INNERLUXES to migrate the corporate intranet to it. Drawing on a deep understanding of migration mechanisms, INNERLUXES's experts produced a detailed migration plan and moved the Client's content quickly without disrupting business processes.

A Collaboration Hub That Lifts Core-Business Productivity

  • The Client gained a collaboration point that increased the efficiency of its information-management processes.
  • That, in turn, raised the productivity of the core business.
