How to Configure the Add-In
Setting it up takes less than five minutes. Here’s how:
Step 1 — Open Settings
Click the gear icon in the title bar to open the add-in settings panel.
Step 2 — Pick Your User List
Select your user list from the drop-down. Make sure it includes a Person field for names and a DateTime field for birthdays.
Step 3 — Select Fields
Choose the correct Person and DateTime fields, then set how many days in advance birthday reminders should appear.
Step 4 — Add a Picture Library
Optionally, connect a picture library so employees can attach a fun image to their wishes when sending birthday greetings.
Step 5 — Save & Go Live
Hit Save — and you’re done. The add-in is live and will start showing upcoming birthdays immediately.

Edit page & add web part
Open any SharePoint page in edit mode, add a new web part zone, and select InOffice Cakes&Candles from your installed apps list.
Trust & permissions
If prompted, trust the add-in from Site Contents → Permissions to grant it access to your user list and birthday data.

If the add-in isn’t showing birthday info or your drop-down settings appear empty, the fix is usually a quick permissions update.
